As soon as their first teeth appear, ideally before their first birthday. Early visits are about familiarity and fun, not treatment, and they make a lifetime of difference.
Slowly and kindly. We use 'tell-show-do', let children set the pace, and never force anything. Most anxious children are happily hopping into the chair within a visit or two.
Absolutely, nervous patients are a passion of ours. Longer appointments, full explanations, stop signals and sedation options all help. Many of our most loyal patients arrived terrified.
